Navigating identity and ethnicity, these artists react to the contemporary Mexican-American culture. This exhibition will reflect on the status of being a modern Chicano/a in the United States and questioning what is authentic to the culture.
Each artists’ display will feature interdisciplinary aesthetic that will include varied art materials to stimulate questions and revelations of being brown and mediating with art materials. This exhibition will highlight the works of the prolific emerging artists Ricardo “NACO” González, Yvette Mayorga, Joseph “JOEMAMA” Mora.
The collection of work on display will celebrate and criticize contemporary depictions and allegories of the Mexican-American.
